Department: TransportationLocation: Charlotte, NCDescriptionDRMP is broadening its transportation engineering service offerings to our growing client base in the Mid-Atlantic region including the Carolinas and Virginia.The Traffic Operations Project Manager will help oversee traffic signal design, traffic control design, signing and pavement marking design functions.Your Primary Responsibilities will include       * Performs various engineering related calculations and analyses in the application of the basic design criteria necessary to complete assigned projects.       * Collaborates with CAD technicians, field technicians, designers, surveyors, and other team personnel to complete projects efficiently and accurately.       * Manages multiple publicly and privately funded projects and provides technical quality control of projects.       * Prepares project fee proposals and follows up as appropriate.       * Responsible for tracking of costs, schedules, and performance measurements for assigned projects.       * Coordinates the preparation of data tabulation/evaluation and reports and assists in report production and development of engineering designs and specifications.       * Performs field assignments including site inspections and conducting field assessment of properties.       * Maintains field notes and photo documentation as required.       * Supervises work of Associates and Interns.       * Mentors/Coaches Associates and Interns to develop staff.                  What you'll need       * Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.       * Professional Engineering licensure in the state where this person's work is primarily performed.       * Eight (8)+ years of overall and progressively responsible experience with public and private sector projects, specifically with NCDOT.       * Experience in traffic signal design, traffic control design, signing and pavement marking design, and cost estimating.       * Ability to execute a sound and efficient project.       * Proficient in MicroStation/AutoCAD       * Effective verbal communication skills with colleagues and subcontractors.       * Effective organizational and proposal writing skills including cost estimates.       * Ability to support marketing efforts in target sector.       * Ability to mentor, train, and guide junior staff.       * Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgement.
