Our inpatientward provides care and treatment to those diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa from across the East Midlands. The service team also consists of nurses, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, administrators, dietitians, research and evaluation associates. Job SummaryWe are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Associate in Psychologyto join our friendly multidisciplinary team at the Leicestershire Adult Eating Disorder ServiceThe post is based at Forest Grange, Bennion Centre, Leicester. Candidates must possess the Masters Clinical Associate in Psychology qualification.The team is well established and have been providing high quality care for the residents of Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland for over 30 years. The team assess and provide individual care plans for recovery through evidence-based interventions and strong therapeutic relationships to patients with a variety of eating disorders, on a one-to-one basis and in group settings. Our inpatientward provides care and treatment to those diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa from across the East Midlands.Clinical associate psychologists are a key part of our team, and the successful candidate will join our current psychology team Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Associate in Psychologyand Psychology Assistants. The service team also consists of nurses, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, administrators, dietitians, research and evaluation associates. Teamwork and collaboration are highly valued in the service and encouraged from all.Experience of working with people with an eating disorder will be a particular strength for the right candidate. However, we offer opportunities for with those with limited experience in a developmental role.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will work with our services users to develop a shared understanding of their eating disorder, and the impact this has on their mental, physical health and well-being, and how it impacts those around them. The post will involve working across the inpatient and outpatient settings.Under supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist, you will undertake psychological assessments, and develop psychological formulations to guide therapeutic interventions when working on a one-to-one basis with our service users. You will manage your own case load. You will also be working with other team members to deliver and evaluate group-based interventions such as Guided Self Help. Opportunities to be involved with service development and teaching are also part of the role.A good understanding of some of the physical and psychological risks experienced by our patients will be helpful.
