SSEES Society is a departmental society affiliated with UCL's School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES). All Students at SSEES are automatic members of this society- but other students across UCL with an interest in the SSEES region are welcome to join too! We run a variety of events including academic talks/panels covering everything from politics, culture, and society in the Central & East European regions, career events, and socials that are just for fun!
What we do:
- Exclusive career networking events with special high profile guests from the East European area and beyond
- Roundtable debates and analyses on topics such as the Belarus protests, the mysterious deaths and disappearances of Putin’s political opponents and more
- Frequent socials ranging from game nights, pub quizzes, pizza nights, and more!
