The Royal Institution is an independent charity dedicated to connecting people with the world of science. Science shapes our lives, our culture and the world around us. Our mission is to harness science for the maximum benefit of society. The importance of our mission cannot be overstated. It was recognised by the 58 wealthy individuals who founded the Ri in 1799 and is just as relevant today.
