Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Advertising, Sales, Marketing, or Communications preferred but not required.
  • 1-2 Sales Experience, media sales a plus.
  • Proven success in new business acquisition and exceeding revenue goals.
  • Superior presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Technically proficient – Salesforce, Microsoft Office Suite of products, Microsoft Teams and Outlook required.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Expert knowledge of both the transactional and long-term sales cycles.
  • Goal Orientated, competitive, and forward-thinking.
  • Willing to learn / be coached.

Responsibilities

  • Become an expert in the Houston Chronicle’s digital and print products/services, supported by our vast sales training program.
  • Successfully sell digital advertising solutions to a high volume of new businesses using our suite of products (SEO/SEM, Social Media, Display, Content Marketing, Email Marketing, Video, OTT/CTV, custom publications and sponsorships).
  • Exceed activity, pipeline, and revenue goals monthly.
  • Generate new leads through lead generation, cold calling, email marketing, networking, and awareness of new business openings.
  • Continually build a pipeline of new business and upsell opportunities.
  • Conduct discovery calls and presentations with prospects and customers.
  • Handle customer's objections efficiently.
  • Effectively use CRM, company communication platforms and AI sales tools.
