What is the duration of the apprenticeship program?
The apprenticeship program lasts for 24 months and starts in February 2025.
Where will the apprenticeship take place?
The apprenticeship will involve time spent at our Basingstoke and Winchester sites, rotating through different areas of the Pharmacy department.
What qualifications do I need to apply for this position?
Applicants must have GCSE grades A-C (9-4) or equivalent qualifications and must be UK residents for the last 3+ years.
Will I be paid during the apprenticeship?
Yes, this apprenticeship role offers the opportunity to earn while you learn.
What kind of training will I receive?
Apprentices will receive integrated training that includes both underpinning knowledge of Pharmacy sciences and practical on-the-job skills required to be a Pharmacy Technician.
Will I be able to work independently during the apprenticeship?
Apprentices will gain practical experience under the supervision of a registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist.
How will my progress be assessed?
Progress will be assessed through assignments and evidence collection for an e-portfolio, which is necessary for registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician.
What areas of the Pharmacy department will I be exposed to?
Apprentices will rotate through areas including inpatient dispensary, aseptic unit, clinical trials, medicines information, medicines management, outpatients, pharmacy stores, medicines safety & governance, and homecare.
