The purpose of the Cash Desk Volunteer position is to assist the British Heart Foundation in fundraising efforts by processing sales, engaging with customers, and thanking donors, all while supporting lifesaving research into heart and circulatory diseases.
What age do I need to be to volunteer as a Cash Desk Volunteer?
You need to be at least 16 years old to volunteer as a Cash Desk Volunteer. We cannot accept volunteers under this age.
Is this a paid position?
No, this is an unpaid voluntary position.
What training will I receive as a volunteer?
Full training will be provided to ensure you are equipped to handle your tasks effectively and confidently.
What kind of tasks will I be doing as a Cash Desk Volunteer?
Typical tasks include engaging with customers, processing sales, answering questions, communicating with fellow volunteers, honing retail and cashier skills, and promoting Gift Aid and sales campaigns.
What are the benefits of volunteering with the British Heart Foundation?

Can I volunteer if I have a criminal conviction?
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept volunteers with unspent criminal convictions.
How many hours do I need to commit to volunteering?
We welcome volunteers who can spare a few hours a week or just a couple of hours occasionally, making the role flexible and accommodating.
Will I receive any support during my volunteering?
Yes, you will have support from fellow volunteers and staff while volunteering in the shop.
