Requirements

  • Minimum 3.0 overall GPA required
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Management, Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or other related majors
  • Basic understanding of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Standards
  • Candidate must be willing to relocate to be within driving distance of the facility
  • Applicant must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular audits of work areas, equipment, and processes to identify hazards - recommend corrective actions
  • Update and create Job Safety Analysis via BasicSafe
  • Collaborate with safety coordinator to develop risk mitigation strategies
  • Help facilitate the online safety training platform via Vector Solutions - Convergence
  • Help facilitate hands on safety training sessions
  • Assist with pre-shift meeting safety discussions
  • Assist in investigating workplace incidents, accidents, or near misses
  • Assist with Root Cause Problem Solving Meetings (RCPS)
  • Assist with leading Monthly Safety Committee Meetings
  • Assist with policy updates and program reform
  • Lead safety projects with the assistance of the Safety Coordinator
  • Perform annual safety program performance audits
  • Assist with LOTO document audits and upkeep
  • Keep mill up to date with compliance calendar
