Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of multiple experienced engineers, the successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of utility substation design.
  • Responsibilities will include detailed design of low to extra high voltage utility substations to include one-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit, and cable sizing/routing, substation layout, etc.
  • The position may also include performing design calculations in accordance with industry standards such as IEEE, NEC, NESC, etc., assisting senior engineers with QA/QC design checks, and assisting design engineers with design efforts for electric utility substation physical and protection/control design.
  • In addition to working under the guidance of experienced team members, the selected intern will also participate in sessions designed to develop your skills and provide networking opportunities.
  • Those sessions include Professional Development sessions focused on resume writing, interview tips, building a LinkedIn profile, and more.
  • Early Talent Speaker Series where leaders speak to interns about their role, their vision for the company, and their career path, offer career advice, and a Q&A session.
  • Fun Friday activities where interns company-wide join to network and have some fun while doing it.
