  • We have opportunities for those studying engineering degrees inclusive of electrical, civil, control and instrumentation, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, reliability and asset management.
  • Our opportunities are open to students who are in their 2nd year of their degree onwards or those who have already graduated.
  • We'd love you to have some practical work or project experience that reflects your passion for the energy sector, as well as demonstrable experience of working in a team.
  • You'll also be comfortable working to and setting stretching individual targets and using your own initiative to overcome challenges and should have a genuine interest in SSE Thermal and the prospect of a long-term future with us.

Responsibilities

  • Working as part of our multi-disciplined teams, we have a range of opportunities for students to support projects across our Thermal business.
  • We're looking for students who can bring fresh ideas, new skills and creative thinking, to deliver innovative solutions to help us reach net zero.
  • You will be based in our Engineering and Asset Management division supporting engineering discipline teams.
  • You would be working alongside colleagues who are exploring opportunities in emerging carbon capture and hydrogen technologies to ensure we can continue to provide flexible and reliable energy in a net zero world.
  • Our interns work collaboratively in a variety of contexts, while also taking ownership of their role by working under their own direction to drive action forward.
  • There will also be networking and presentation opportunities, specialist sessions and support from our graduates.
