What qualifications are required for this role?
A Bachelor of Science degree in a GIS-related field is required, along with 0-1 year of GIS experience, which can include internships. Experience with ArcGIS is also necessary.
Will this role involve fieldwork or office work?
Yes, the role will be mostly in the field with some office work, including viewing as-builts to ensure that the data matches what is shown in the GIS system.
What type of projects will the technician be working on?
The technician will be working on make ready/joint use utility projects that include preparing forestry trimming requests, facilitating permit and ROW acquisition, development of BOM, estimating costs, and closing out GIS work orders in ArcGIS.
