Requirements

  • Preferred Candidate Knowledge/Experience:
  • Currently pursuing certifications in Security+, Network+, CCNA, or NRS1
  • Understanding of wired communications systems, like local area networks (LAN) and wide-area networks (WAN)
  • Ability to install, configure, and maintain computer networks, including cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and bridges.
  • Familiarity with R.F. interfaces and systems such as transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks.
  • Knowledge of standard telephony, dedicated data circuits, and packet switching techniques.
  • Understanding of logging recording systems.
  • During the Co-Op Program, you will gain hands-on experience with the following equipment:
  • Motorola Base Stations (STR series, GTR series, etc.)
  • Centracom Consoles (Gold Elite, MCC7500, MCC7100)
  • Computer IP Networks and Configuration
  • Experience working with RF Infrastructure Technologies, including Motorola SmartZone, Smartnet, Console Systems, ASTRO Conventional and Trunked equipment
  • The Co-Op Program will also provide you with technical skills in using various communications test equipment, such as:
  • Communication System Analyzers
  • Ethernet Link test sets
  • TIMS (Transmission Impairment Measurement Set)
  • Digital RF Power Meter
  • Motorola Conventional, SmartNet, Centracom, and MCC Console systems, Secure Operations, and ASTRO A7.x - A20.x Digital systems and installation procedures.
