Requirements

  • Ability to receive instruction and perform tasks in a timely manner.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and how to safely use them.
  • Ability to complete task with minimal supervision.
  • Terminate/run Ethernet cabling
  • Ability to operate company vehicles and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to climb and work on ladders that range up to 35+ feet.
  • Ability to learn and operate and work on man lift at heights up to 50+ feet
  • Skills and Experience:
  • No IT based experience is required
  • Experience in cabling infrastructure installation is very helpful.
  • Able to drive company owned box trucks
  • Customer oral/written skills
  • Minimum Qualifications/Technical and Educational Requirements:
  • High school diploma, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree
  • CCNA certification or any other Cisco certification a plus.
  • Training / Certification Course

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation of network cabling infrastructure in educational environments.
  • Ability to communicate with coworkers and customers in an effective and respectful manner.
  • Climb Ladders up to 10-ft.-tall (no fear of heights).
  • Operate cable testing equipment, such as Fluke tester and basic cable testers.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic Layer 1 network switching connectivity problems.
  • Ability to install network switches, UPS(s), Access Points, and other customer owed equipment
  • Must have reliable transportation and qualified to operate company vehicle (clean driving record).
  • Willingness to travel and work on company projects in various cities statewide, up to 25% travel is required at times.
  • Open to learning, direction from Supervisor, and working as a team member and also self-sufficient.
  • Must pass a drug and background screening (clean record, no criminal arrests/convictions).
  • Possible other job duties include setting up PC, printers, and AV products.
  • Set up voice over IP (VoIP) phones; connect to network, and test functions.
  • Work in warehouse setting to help with supervised tasks by warehouse manager
  • Work with facilities manager and receptionist in helping around the office
