Interns will work on individual duties as well as a larger project that will be presented to Hub Leadership at the end of the semester.
What departments will interns have the opportunity to learn about?
Interns will learn about various departments including Flight Safety, Operations Customer Center, Technical Operations, and In-Flight Service, among others.
Are there any academic qualifications required for this internship?
Yes, applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program with an aviation management discipline and maintain a competitive GPA.
What skills are necessary for this internship?
Candidates should demonstrate competency in data collection and analysis, quick problem-solving, and should possess excellent communication skills.
What software should applicants be familiar with?
Applicants should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Access, Word, Excel, Forms, PowerPoint, and Smartsheet.
Is there any specific age requirement for this internship?
Yes, candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
Will interns have an opportunity to travel while off duty?
Yes, interns will receive standby travel privileges anywhere in the Delta system while off duty.
Are there any preferred qualifications for this internship?
Yes, preferred qualifications include being a self-starter, possessing project management experience, and being actively engaged with community or student organizations related to aviation.
What safety requirements must be met?
Interns must consistently prioritize safety and security and must acquire a SIDA badge, including a U.S. Customs seal and SLC driving endorsement.
Will interns participate in any safety meetings or reports?
Yes, interns will participate in Incident Analysis reports, Injury Prevention Group sessions, and station safety meetings.
Is there any community engagement expected from interns?
Yes, interns are encouraged to engage with the community and/or student organizations, particularly those focused on aviation.
Will this internship provide career development opportunities?
Yes, the internship includes career development opportunities including eligibility for the Propel Pilot Career Path Program and volunteer community service opportunities.
