What are the primary responsibilities of the Intern in the Geotechnical Department?
The primary responsibilities include conducting field and laboratory testing of concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates, performing sampling or testing as directed, assisting other personnel, transporting equipment and specimens, cleaning work areas, and participating in training and increasing responsibility in work assignments.
What educational background is required for this internship?
A high school diploma is required, along with a BS degree in progress in a science or related field, such as environmental, safety, engineering, chemistry, biology, or geology. The ideal candidate will have less than one year remaining to complete their BS degree.
Is prior experience necessary for this internship?
No prior experience is required, but candidates should be currently enrolled in a relevant degree program with an interest in gaining hands-on experience.
What type of tasks will I assist with during the internship?
You will assist with sampling and testing, provide physical assistance in equipment set-up, transport materials, clean equipment and work areas, and support other technicians or professional staff on routine tasks.
