What is the duration of the internship?
The internship will begin on June 2nd, 2025, and continue through August 2025.
What are the pay rates for the internship position?
The pay rate for the internship ranges from $18 to $20 per hour based on the current class year.
Are interns required to be located in New York State?
Yes, interns must be located in New York State or an immediately adjacent state while working.
How many hours per week are interns expected to work?
Interns will work up to 18.5 hours per week during the semester and up to 37.5 hours per week between semesters when not attending classes.
What qualifications are necessary to apply for this internship?
Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university, preferably in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Recent graduates are not eligible.
Is proficiency in any specific software required for this position?
Yes, proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is required.
Will interns participate in internal audits?
Yes, interns may assist in performing a gap analysis of existing internal audit policies and procedures and could participate in assessing internal controls as part of the FY2025-2026 Audit Plan.
Is there an expectation for in-person work at the Albany office?
Yes, interns must have the ability to work in-person at NYSERDA’s Albany office at least 50% of the time.
Do I need to submit my application through a specific portal?
Yes, applications should be submitted through NYSERDA's Careers page online, as submissions through your school’s recruiting portal will not be considered.
Will there be any assessments during the application process?
During the application process, you may be prompted to opt-in to Artificial Intelligence (AI) scoring; however, this feature is not used by NYSERDA in its recruiting and hiring process. Your response will not impact your application.
