When is the expected start date for the internship?
The internship is expected to start around August or September 2025.
How long is the internship program?
The internship is expected to last for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, through the Fall term, ending approximately in December 2025. If opportunities are available, it may continue into Winter/Spring 2026.
Is this internship open to international students?
Yes, but international students must consult their school regarding their ability to work 40 hours per week on-site, particularly if their work authorization is through CPT.
What qualifications should candidates possess for this internship?
Candidates should be pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Vehicle Engineering, Computer Science, Photographic Sciences, or a related field, and should demonstrate proven technical experience through coursework, projects, or similar experiences.
What types of projects will I be working on during this internship?
Interns will work on designing and building custom test equipment, managing projects from concept through commissioning, writing and maintaining test software, and developing validation schedules.
What are the expected skills for this internship position?
Candidates should have a good grasp of engineering fundamentals, experience with hand tools and sensors, coding experience preferably in Python, CAD design experience, and a genuine curiosity for problem-solving and automation.
Will I receive compensation during the internship?
Yes, the expected compensation for the internship ranges from $20.00 to $50.00 per hour, plus benefits.

Yes, the internship opportunities are available across multiple teams, including thermal management, structures test engineering, power electronics manufacturing, drive unit testing, ADAS testing, and others focused on Tesla's hardware validation.
