What is the application deadline for the Law Student Volunteer position?

Are there any specific qualifications required for applicants?
Yes, applicants must be first-year, second-year, or third-year law students and must be U.S. citizens.
What is the required weekly commitment for the internship?
Interns are required to work 16 hours per week for 12 weeks.
Is this internship compensated?
No, this internship is not compensated, and there are no matching contributions available.
Can first-year law students submit recommendation letters?
The letters of recommendation are waived for first-year law students only.

What types of tasks will law student interns be involved in?
Law student interns will assist in trial preparation, legal research, writing memoranda of law, drafting pleadings and appellate briefs, and other tasks related to civil and criminal cases.
Is there a residency requirement for applicants?
Yes, applicants must have resided in the United States for a total of three years of the past five years, worked for the U.S. overseas in a federal or military capacity, or been a dependent of a federal or military employee serving overseas.
Are interns allowed to work on outside legal matters during the internship?
No, interns are not permitted to work in a legal capacity on outside matters during their internship unless prior authorization is granted.
