Requirements

  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
  • First-year (second semester) and second and third-year law students with strong academic record. Must be actively enrolled in an accredited law school throughout the internship. Interns must be able to commit to a minimum of 10 hours/week for 14 weeks during the academic semester or 6-8 weeks in the summer.
  • Offers are contingent on the selected applicants successfully completing a background review. This includes fingerprints / credit and tax checks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform reviews of investigative reports and redact personal identifiable information (PII) and attorney client privilege information; and identify information that may be subject to other privileges or confidentiality concerns and bringing that to the attention of the appropriate staff member.
  • Research and analyze legal issues, problems and practices; and draft a memorandum outlining research and analysis.
  • Research case law for recommended full dismissals or partial dismissals; and draft the recommendation for full dismissal or partial dismissal.
  • Draft questionnaires and/or document requests in EEO investigations.
  • Assist with other programs or events within the office’s responsibility, as appropriate.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
