Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first responder for mechanical issues in the data center, assisting with immediate troubleshooting and issue identification to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor, respond to, and escalate alerts or alarms related to mechanical and HVAC systems, working closely with senior engineers to implement solutions.
  • Write and update emergency response procedures specific to data center operations, ensuring clear guidelines for mechanical system responses.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for handling mechanical issues, such as temperature fluctuations, equipment failures, and maintenance tasks.
  • Assist with diagnosing and resolving mechanical system issues, including HVAC systems, chillers, and other climate control equipment, critical to maintaining optimal operating conditions.
  • Conduct field investigations and report findings to support troubleshooting and improve system reliability.
  • Participate in preventive maintenance activities, helping to ensure the mechanical infrastructure remains in optimal working condition.
  • Collaborate with facility engineers to assess and implement improvements that enhance energy efficiency and reduce the risk of mechanical failures.
  • Document key activities, issues, and resolutions, providing accurate records of responses and maintenance activities.
  • Prepare reports on mechanical system performance and identify opportunities to enhance system efficiency and response times.
