What is the main focus of the Mechanical Facilities Engineering Intern role?
The main focus of the role is to work alongside Senior Mechanical Engineers on a variety of industrial mechanical and process piping projects, including the design of manufacturing facilities, compressible gas and liquid transfer facilities, and industrial ventilation systems.
What qualifications are required for this internship?
Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and possess a strong design interest in solid body mechanics, thermal fluid science, heat transfer, and dynamics of rotating equipment.
What types of tasks will I be responsible for in this internship?
Responsibilities include determining material of construction requirements for piping and storage tank systems, performing hydraulic calculations for fluid transfer systems, conducting basic mechanics of materials calculations for piping design, and developing specifications for procurement of pumps, compressors, blowers, and industrial ventilation systems.
