Responsibilities

  • As a Leeds based Research Technician Intern, you will be part of a 4-month rotation system across three departments that provide a fantastic overview and introduction to Phase I clinical research:
  • Clinical Operations – Train as a Phase I Research Technician, responsible for tasks such as taking bloods, monitoring vital signs, conducting ECGs and other study assessment as required. You’ll work alongside the clinical operations team and interact with our volunteers.
  • Screening – Gain a comprehensive understanding of the screening process required for a volunteer to be accepted onto a Phase I study. We provide full training to conduct screening appointments, including completing assessments and entering data into the electronic data capture system.
  • Laboratory – Join the laboratory technician team and learn how to process, pipette, store and ship the samples required to complete a Phase I study. Full training is provided in all aspects of laboratory work.
