What tasks will I be responsible for as a Stock Assistant volunteer?
As a Stock Assistant volunteer, you will be responsible for checking the quality of donated items, preparing items for sale or recycling, replenishing stock on the shop floor, ironing, cleaning, labeling, and helping to price items ready for sale, as well as other general activities around the shop.
Do I need previous experience to apply for this role?
No, no previous experience is needed. Full training will be provided to all volunteers.
What is the expected commitment for volunteering?
There is no minimum commitment or fixed hours. We ask that you agree on hours with the shop manager that you are confident you can attend and notify us if there are any changes.
Can I volunteer if I am a refugee or asylum seeker?
Yes, we welcome refugees, asylum seekers, and others currently in the UK to volunteer with us. We strive to make volunteering accessible to everyone.
What if I have specific health and safety needs?
We take an individual approach to ensuring your safety. We may ask you to complete a simple risk assessment and will have a conversation to discuss any adjustments you may need.
Are there any expenses covered for volunteers?
Yes, we have an expenses policy that prioritizes ensuring volunteers do not incur costs related to their role. Reasonable pre-agreed travel expenses for attending training and the role will be reimbursed.

What is the environment like in the shop?
The shop environment is dynamic and inclusive, where no two days are the same due to the exciting donations and wonderful customers.

No, there is no expectation to use a till or computer in this volunteering role.
