What is the duration of the Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care Internship?
The internship is a 12-month position.
What qualifications do I need to apply for the internship?
Applicants must possess a recognised Veterinary Degree and be or have eligibility to be a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Is prior experience required for applicants?
Although not essential, it is highly preferred that applicants have successfully completed a small animal rotating internship in a multi-disciplinary referral hospital.
What is the salary for the internship?
The salary for the internship is £35,000 per annum.
Will I receive supervision during my clinical work?
Yes, you will provide emergency and critical care under the supervision of residency trained/board-certified ECC clinicians.
Are there opportunities for continuing professional development (CPD)?
Yes, there is an additional allowance for CPD and European conference attendance, as well as memberships for professional organizations.
What are the working conditions regarding hours?
The internship involves a rolling rota with no on-call duties.
How many weeks of annual leave do interns get?
Interns receive 7 weeks of annual leave, plus their birthday off.
What will my key responsibilities involve?
Key responsibilities include participating in planning, diagnosis, and treatment of cases, maintaining high clinical standards and accurate records, and engaging in case discussions.
