Responsibilities

  • Intrepid Direct is looking for a motivated Software Engineer Intern to join our team for a 12-week period. This position will learn about our engineering SDLC process, assist with daily production support items, learn about unit and integration testing, and contribute enhancements to our codebase. As part of the internship, you will be paired up with one of our cross functional engineering teams. This team will teach you the ins and outs of how an engineering team functions and how technology helps support insurance operations.
  • Key functions include but are not limited to:
  • Plan work assignments with assigned team members.
  • Collaborate with team to work on well-defined technical tasks.
  • Debug and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Assist with implementation of features in existing applications.
  • Contribute to additional development tasks, including UI, API, and database integrations.
  • Create and update unit and integration tests.
  • Manage code changes using Git.
  • Participate in code reviews.
  • This role is based in our Overland Park, KS office. It is an in-office role.
