Requirements

  • - Experience with basic research methods and use of human subjects in evaluations and experiments.
  • - Ability to convey technical and non-technical concepts clearly and succinctly in both written and verbal formats.
  • - A passion for aviation/aerospace.
  • - Experience with advanced task analysis methods.
  • - Experience with biomechanics and time study theories.
  • - Experience with sensation and perception research.
  • - Experience with simulation software (e.g., CATIA V5 Human Builder, 3DSSPP, iData).
  • - Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS).
  • - Flying experience (e.g., PPL, CPL, ATP).
  • - Must be actively pursuing Bachelors degree and above in Psychology, Human Factors, Engineering Psychology, Industrial Engineering, or related degree.
  • - Have some prior aviation experience or indicate an interest in pursuing a career in aviation.
  • - To be considered as an intern, applicants must plan to graduate from their current academic program any time after May 2025 or have plan to continue their education in the summer 2025 (i.e. bachelors to masters).
  • - Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA at the time of application is required and must be listed on the submitted resume. GPA must remain above a 3.0 through the Fall semester for Spring 2025 internship. Transcripts will be checked and we do not average transfer credits from one institution to another.
  • - Ability to convey technical concepts in both written and verbal formats.

  • - Display maturity and a high level of professionalism.
  • - Proven leadership skills on-campus or in a previous work atmosphere.
  • - Previous internship experience a plus.
  • - Must have reliable transportation to and from work for the duration of the internship.
  • - Must be available to work full time in person during the months of January - April 2025 for at least 14 weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform trade studies on system design concepts and present human factors requirement recommendations to multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Assist in the design of part task simulation evaluations for detailed design requirement definition using software and physical mockups, or predictive modeling tools.
  • Work with a Human Factors Engineer to provide project recommendation in selecting and applying appropriate anthropometric modeling tools to design concept analysis.
  • Apply appropriate data analysis methods (descriptive or inferential statistics).
  • Assist in the preparation, development, and execution part task and/or simulator plans that utilize data measurement techniques such as rating scales, questionnaires, and performance measurement calculation.
  • Document evaluations in final engineering reports.
  • Assist with validation and verification of requirements.
  • Utilize industry and/or regulatory committee design guidance and/or regulations to support design aspects.
