Description
- The School and Library Marketing department at Little, Brown Books for Young Readers promotes children’s titles to librarians and educators across the country through a variety of methods including targeted campaigns, conference attendance, print and online advertising, social media, e-newsletter updates, mailings, and more. As a Marketing Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals and gain hands-on professional experience as you own day-to-day tasks, help with special projects, and attend departmental meetings.
- To enhance your work experience, we offer educational sessions featuring speakers from all departments of the company as well as networking and career development opportunities.
Requirements
- An individual interested in a career in book publishing
- Self-starter with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Possess a great attitude and a desire to learn as well as excellent ability to multitask
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Adobe Suite is a plus

Responsibilities
- Researching national and state award guidelines; coordinating submission mailings and maintaining records
- Researching curriculum development programs in each U.S. state
- Marketing campaign brainstorming and content creation
- Coordinating logistics for school and library conferences (booth arrangements, hotel reservations, shipping, and author travel)
- Coordinating digital programming events
- Writing and reviewing copy for advertising, promotional items, social media posts, newsletters
- Managing departmental contact database and review copy mailings
- Contributing to the planning and execution of School & Library marketing campaigns.
