What are the main responsibilities of the Environmental Investigation and Remediation Intern?
The intern will be involved in field safety practices, media collection, environmental drilling oversight, due diligence reconnaissance, data review, interpretation, and report preparation.
Is there any safety training provided before starting the internship?
Yes, Terracon provides each intern with 40 hours of safety training prior to starting the internship.
Will the intern have a mentor?
Yes, each intern will be assigned a leader/mentor in the environmental consulting field who will assist with career planning and technical skill development.
Are there opportunities for professional development during the internship?
Yes, interns will have opportunities for professional development, including participating in a cohort to connect with other interns and presenting to the executive leadership team.
Will the intern need to travel during the internship?
Yes, the intern can expect to travel for day trips and/or overnight as needed.
What type of education is required to apply for this internship?
Applicants must have a high school diploma and be pursuing a BS degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Biology, or a similar program.
What is the purpose of the cohort that interns will participate in?
The cohort provides a way for interns to connect with others across the company to share experiences and to start building a professional network.
Are there physical tasks involved in the internship?
Yes, interns will be involved in transporting equipment, specimens, and documents, as well as providing physical assistance in equipment set-up.
