  • Physical and Environmental Requirements:
  • The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the work day and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.
  • Travel Requirements:
  • 10% Minimal travel is required for this position (up to 10% of the time and on a domestic basis).
  • Intern must reside in the Houston or surrounding areas during the duration of the internship.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute in the review of various contracts and files.
  • Assist with activities that help ensure the company complies with state and federal laws, and regulations along with lender requirements applicable to this businesses.
  • Collaborate in maintaining corporate governance records, including board minutes, policies, and filings.
  • Support creation of compliance charts, information and data for compliance purposes.
  • Create and assist with creation of documents for use by the lawyers, paralegals, and compliance team.
  • Gain Hands-on experience in a corporate legal and compliance department.
  • Engage in opportunities to interact with senior legal and business professionals.
  • Obtain exposure and insight into the type of real-world legal challenges presented in a corporate environment.
