Description
- The Public Relations Intern is responsible for supporting and streamlining internal workflows on behalf of the Public Relations Manager Supports the development and implementation of outreach strategies related to MetroPlusHealth’ s brand image and voice.
- Join us this summer (June – August) for a highly interactive and engaging internship experience where you get to work alongside various departments to develop your skills and learn more about the health insurance and healthcare industry.
- Department Requesting: Undergraduate Student / Graduate Student
- Interns will also participate in workshops, activities and other events organized by MetroPlusHealth
- Note: This is a paid internship program. Prospective interns must be current students attending an accredited College or University and must be 18 years or older to be considered.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Attention to detail and organization
- Writing and content development ability
- Familiarity with leading communications software programs
- Understanding of new media platforms and trends
- Eagerness to apply knowledge to achieve communications objectives
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and successfully juggle multiple tasks
- Discretion in handling confidential information

Responsibilities
- Supports the PR function Team on all initiatives, and reports to the PR Manager.
- Maintain press lists for the team.
- Monitor coverage and create press summaries/recaps
- Help support execution of media and PR campaigns for MetroPlusHealth, related events and key company initiatives
- Assist in creation of media materials including press releases, media alerts, bios, etc.
- Liaise between the PR team and various internal teams as required, including event marketing, merchandising, creative, etc.
- Assist in PR for special events.
- Research and analyze industry related trends.
