Requirements

  • Junior, Senior, or Master’s student actively pursuing a BS/BA/Masters in Accounting/Finance/Taxation or related field.
  • Demonstrated success in coursework as measured by a 3.0 GPA or higher in major courses
  • Knowledge of accounting principles including: Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), Government Auditing Standards (GAS Yellow Book) and Generally Accepted Governmental Accounting Standards (GAGAS) is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 including Word and Excel, with experience with Visio or other general flowchart software preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performing detailed audit procedures on financial statement account balances, preparing and adjusting work papers from clients’ trial balance
  • Identifying potential management letter comments
  • Recognizing potential problem areas in specific engagements and discusses them with engagement supervisor
  • Performing other accounting, auditing, and consulting duties as needed in engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel
  • Preparation of compiled and reviewed financial statements
  • Drafting annual financial statements, including footnote disclosures
  • Becoming proficient at preparing financial statements using the firm’s software programs
  • Researching business and industry trends to develop a point of view to leverage in assisting with proposals
