Do we support remote work?
This is not a remote position; the internship is based in the Fort Worth, Texas office.
What kind of projects will I be working on?
You will contribute to pre-construction planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for multiple projects varying in size and scope.
What qualifications do I need to apply for the internship?
You should be in the process of receiving a Planning Degree (Bachelors or Masters) from an accredited program in City and Regional Planning, Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, or other related majors.
Are there opportunities for collaboration in this role?
Yes, you will be expected to solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions.
Will I gain knowledge about regulations?
Yes, you will develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the practices, procedures, and standards of Kimley-Horn and our clients.
What type of studies will I prepare?
You will prepare planning and land use studies and evaluate development proposals to identify compliance with zoning regulations.
Will I interact with government agencies?
Yes, you will coordinate with various municipal and state agencies as part of your responsibilities.
