What does the Trimmer Trainee position involve?
The Trimmer Trainee position involves trimming and removing trees, as well as removing unwanted, diseased, or dying limbs to improve the health and safety of trees and surrounding areas. The role includes learning to climb trees, operate as part of a tree crew, perform tree pruning and removal, and properly maintain tools and equipment.
Is prior experience in tree care required for this position?
No prior experience is required, but a background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights is preferred.
What training will be provided to a new hire?
A new hire will complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program, as well as the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving courses upon hire.
Will I need any certifications to work in this position?
While not required, it is preferred that candidates have relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates if required by state law.
