Requirements

  • Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergrad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
  • 18 years or older
  • Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
  • Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
  • Enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
  • Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship OR co-op
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree concentration(s) in Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, OR related discipline, such as, but not limited to, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering
  • 2-4 years of lab experience
  • Strong basic lab skills
  • Ability to learn new experimental methods
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to conduct research
  • Ability to manage multiple projects consecutively
  • Demonstrated ability to bring structure to complex problems, pragmatic scoping and problem-solving approach, ability to objectively evaluate options/trade-offs and develop executive management-level recommendations
  • Knowledge and understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory policies

Responsibilities

  • With the support of their hiring manager, the intern will develop a strategy that may result in a meaningful change to the business. Using their analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills, the intern will work cross-functionally to clarify the problem, measure the current state, and develop recommendations through qualitative and quantitative analysis.
