  • Studying towards a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent;
  • An interest in the development of composite and metallic aircraft structures, particularly the structural analysis of those structures;
  • An interest in finding creative and practical solutions to complex problems;
  • A proactive team player who is able to listen, understand and communicate in an open and trusting environment;
  • A strong interest in developing themselves and others.
  • SECURITY CLEARANCE: Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance OR You will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check).

Responsibilities

  • - Using Airbus methods and tools, including advanced FE models, to predict the behaviour of the test specimen;
  • - Correlating test results with predictions and drawing conclusions for the next phase of testing, and beyond;
  • - Working with the results of novel instrumentation techniques to gain understanding of the behavior of the wing and feeding that learning into future projects.
  • - Supporting the development of novel composite wing box designs, working closely with other engineering functions and manufacturing colleagues.
  • - Developing a good understanding of how we design, analyze and test Airbus wings.
  • - Using cutting edge simulation tools and playing a role in disseminating the learning to future R&T activities and projects.
