Responsibilities

  • Counsel and advise prospective, new, and current students and their families about financial aid eligibility, application procedures, aid programs, costs, and indebtedness.
  • Provide clear and accessible explanations of financial aid options, including grants, loans, scholarships, and work-study programs, helping students and families understand the implications of each choice.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Direct Loan counseling and Master Promissory Note (MPN) requirements by proactively contacting students to complete necessary forms.
  • Process pre-claim notification letters for students delinquent on federal student loan payments in accordance with Due Diligence procedures to prevent loan default.
  • Identify former students and upcoming graduates who are required to complete exit counseling and ensure timely distribution of exit counseling packets.
  • Assist students in estimating their educational expenses to calculate their financial needs for the academic year.
  • Oversee daily business operations, including processing travel reimbursements, preparing payment vouchers and ordering supplies.
  • Oversee the day-to-day work of student employees, ensuring tasks are completed on time and meet quality standards.
