What is the main focus of the Assistant Psychologist role?
The main focus is to contribute to CAMHS workforce development and the GM i-THRIVE framework for children and young people’s mental health.
How is the work structured in this role?
The role is structured as a hybrid position, with three days dedicated to supporting the programmes and two days focused on clinical duties.
What types of tasks will I be responsible for in this role?
You will support senior colleagues, manage data entry, assist with psychological assessments, contribute to project tasks, and participate in team activities.
Will I receive supervision and training?
Yes, you will work under the supervision of a Senior Clinical colleague and receive appropriate training for both clinical and other duties.
What experience is preferred for this position?
Experience in working with children, adolescents, and/or adults with mental health problems is preferred.
Are there specific software skills required for the role?
Yes, experience with SPSS, Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and WordPress is required.
What kind of analysis will I be expected to perform?
You should have experience in descriptive statistical analysis and the ability to handle and search through complex data sources.
What communication skills are essential for this job?
Good communication and social skills, both oral and written, as well as exceptional written communication skills, are essential.
Is teamwork important in this role?
Yes, the ability to work collaboratively with staff across CAMHS is crucial for success in this role.
