What is the duration of the contract for the Assistant Psychologist position?
The Assistant Psychologist position is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Where is the Assistant Psychologist position based?
The position is based in Hemel Hempstead and covers Hemel and St Albans.
What type of clients will I be working with in this role?
You will be working with clients who do not meet the criteria for secondary mental health services but may require more than what is offered by Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) Services.
What is the structure of the team I will be working with?
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) consisting of psychologists, CBT therapists, mental health workers, occupational therapists, primary care workers, recovery workers, peer support workers, and pharmacy, with weekly support from psychiatry.
What are the main responsibilities of the Assistant Psychologist?
You will support psychological care by offering guided self-help and formulation-driven interventions, assisting with psychological assessments under supervision, participating in clinical administration, collecting statistics, and contributing to research projects.
Are there any specific guidelines I need to comply with while working in this role?
