Responsibilities

  • Involvement in meetings in which service development is planned and discussed.
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of service development projects as required.
  • Assisting in audit and service evaluation- collating, analysing and disseminating outcome data using qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Contributing to training and support of staff in psychological care.
  • Assisting the qualified psychologist in teaching as required.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of psychologically informed interventions through therapeutic groups for patients with cancer and their carers and, as appropriate, holding a small (supervised) clinical caseload.
  • To contribute, as appropriate, to multi-disciplinary meetings within oncology services and psychology departmental meetings.
  • To work collaboratively across the region with Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and James Paget University Hospital, to ensure equity of access for our cancer patients.
