What qualifications are required for the Associate position in Emerging Markets / Project Finance?
Candidates must be England and Wales qualified with 2-6 years post qualification experience.
What specific experience is preferred for this role?
Candidates should have experience in emerging markets loans, structured trade and commodity finance, and/or project finance, particularly in mining and metals. Experience with jurisdictions in Africa, Central and Eastern Europe, Latin America, and/or the Middle East is beneficial.
Are language skills other than English necessary for this position?
Language skills other than English are not required, but candidates with additional language capabilities are welcome.
What types of finance documents should candidates be familiar with?
Candidates should be familiar with drafting and negotiating finance documents on behalf of lenders and/or borrowers, including facilities agreements, inter-creditor arrangements, and security documentation.
Will I have the opportunity to manage trainees or newly qualified solicitors in this role?
Yes, candidates will be expected to manage trainees and newly qualified solicitors as part of their responsibilities.
Is participation in charity initiatives and pro-bono opportunities expected?
Yes, candidates should show an interest and willingness to get involved in the “life” of the group and the London office, including participating in charity initiatives and pro-bono opportunities.
