Responsibilities

  • Emerging and future technologies are creating significant threats as well as opportunities to our armed forces. To stay in front of our adversaries, we must be innovative, agile, and able to modify and implement the latest technology and engineering practices, procedures, and equipment; and therefore deliver, directly in support of the operational user.
  • As an electronics engineering expert in a high performing and technically talented team, we need an individual who will design, prototype, and deliver novel solutions to solve tactical, operational and at times strategic level problems that will have an immediate and direct effect on physical operations.
  • You will be fully conversant with the design and engineering of unmanned systems, including policy, governance, and management requirements, and be able to advise on new capabilities whose application and introduction would have significant effects on the organisation.
  • You will be familiar with mechanical design documents, electronic schematics and interpreting complicated data sheets and technical documentation. You should be familiar with networking protocols which will be utilised in unmanned aerial systems.
  • You will be expected to conduct trials and evaluations, electronics and communication integration and design, and test and deliver solutions. You will deal directly with operational military users of all ranks. You will handle national sensitive information; you will use this detail in conjunction with your personable people skills, natural sense of integrity and your technical expertise to reach conclusions and solutions.
