Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal legal analysis of plan documents in support of Ameren's various pension and welfare plans ensuring compliance with ERISA and all applicable regulations
  • Research compliance issues and provide timely recommendations
  • Assist with employee benefits related vendors, including review of contracts and communications
  • Review and draft plan documents and related communications, including plan amendments, SPDs, SMMs, notices, and administration forms
  • Maintain plan documents and amendments for the Legal and Human Resources departments and third-party administrators
  • Assist with preparation of Forms 5500, including ensuring timely filing and coordinating with internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Prepare IRS and DOL filings
  • Draft plan committee agenda, minutes, resolutions, charters, policies, claims and appeals, and other decisions and documents
  • Draft and manage plan committee delegations and training materials
  • Review work and recommendations of vendors to ensure complete and accurate information
  • Communicate with actuaries, attorneys, accountants, and Human Resources team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational and communication skills required
