Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight and leadership to the business systems and knowledge management areas for the Public Works Department.
  • This position supervises the systems and process teams to improve systems capabilities, promote continuous process improvement, manage projects, and manage the Public Works knowledge base.
  • This position works under limited supervision.
  • Leads implementation, configuration and support efforts of various department business systems. Works collaboratively with systems analysts and other departments to resolve technical issues and perform system enhancements, upgrades, user testing, training, and adoption of new features.
  • Leads the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures, knowledge-based content, self-service tools, and content management websites.
  • Analyzes current business policies, processes, procedures, and workflow design as they relate to business systems and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Develops business requirements for any software interfaces, configuration needs, or related integration needs.
  • Performs full range of duties (with appropriate managerial review), including hiring, evaluating, promoting, and assigning duties; correcting inappropriate actions or behavior through communication and coaching, initiating discipline or termination as needed; and overseeing employees or a group. Performs the tasks of subordinate employees, as needed.
