Responsibilities

  • Lead Bloom’s advocacy for CA, including work before the CPUC, CARB, CEC, Governor’s office and legislature. This will include direct engagement with commissioners and staff, collaborating with our trade associations, and leading our outside counsel/consultants on policy matters.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the policy and regulatory landscape.
  • Monitor, analyze possible impacts and respond to California state regulatory and policies and proceedings, particularly related to energy, grid services, interconnection, planning and rate design.
  • Develop and lead proactive legislative and regulatory strategies to build new market opportunities.
  • Partner with internal departments to see opportunities, determine business impacts of legislative and regulatory proposals and build and drive positive policy outcomes.
  • Identify and respond to legislative and executive branch policy changes that represent opportunities or risks to Bloom.
  • Master existing regulations that impact Bloom, and represent Bloom as a legislative and regulatory expert in meetings with regulators, agency officials, legislators, utilities, other companies, trade associations and NGOs.
  • Build and maintain a robust network of contacts, supporters, and industry colleagues to advance policy.
