Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience at a top-tier law firm, in-house legal department, consulting firm or in-house privacy team
  • Deep experience with global privacy regulations, including, GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive, U.S. state and sectoral privacy laws, FTC rules and enforcement, and self-regulatory programs
  • Prior start-up or tech experience is required. Ideally in adtech
  • Experience building and growing global privacy programs that incorporate privacy by design into complex technology platforms
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and passion for working in a high-growth environment
  • Ability to understand technology and the interplay between legal, policy and strategy
  • Excellent business judgment and ability to assess legal risk while also thinking strategically and providing practical advice

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage TripleLift’s privacy program in compliance with global regulations and advertising industry standards
  • Work cross-functionally to iterate and improve TripleLift’s privacy strategy in light of market changes, new and updated privacy laws, and advancements in TripleLift’s technology
  • Understand TripleLift’s technology and products at a level that enables you to provide hands on, nuanced and practical data protection advice and recommendations
  • Provide a wide range of subject matter expertise and resources on privacy, security and market dynamics
  • Keep abreast of evolving privacy laws and industry initiatives that may affect TripleLift’s strategy, products and services at a global level – and communicate those effectively to key stakeholders including the c-suite and other leaders.
  • Facilitate discussion and collaboration among product leaders and privacy stakeholders across the company (including members of the legal, product marketing, engineering, security, and communications teams)
  • Draft external privacy notices and disclosures, and manage/update internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with privacy laws
  • Provide guidance, interpretation, requirements and recommendations that enable TripleLift to optimally navigate complex legal frameworks when launching new products, features, functionality and systems designs
  • Work hands-on with business and technology teams to support the implementation of privacy risk management and compliance
  • Structure, draft, review, and help negotiate data protection terms in a variety of commercial agreements including master service agreements, DPAs, and data provider agreements
  • Continually improve our policies, processes and controls to help us scale globally with a consistent but locally relevant approach
