  • UK Qualified Solicitor
  • 5-8 years combined experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department with experience in drafting and negotiating Software-as-a-Service agreements (required)
  • Working knowledge of regulatory matters, including international data protection, corporate compliance, and export/trade restrictions
  • Ability to use sound and practical business judgment and think “outside the box” to address complex matters with creative solutions.
  • Dedication to the customer experience, excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, and negotiation skills are a must. Experience must include working directly with salespeople and customers in the UK and EU region.
  • Familiarity working across the globe to support multiple time zones and cultures.
  • Highly responsive and service-oriented attitude with the ability to work under strict timelines with attention to detail and efficiency.
  • Self-motivated individual who can independently organize, prioritize, and manage multiple activities/deadlines and handle high volumes simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting, maintain strong working relationships with multiple internal clients, and work effectively with remote team and management members.

Responsibilities

  • - Draft, review, analyze, and negotiate various commercial contracts, such as cloud (SaaS) and software licensing, data protection agreements, and professional services agreements. This counsel will also be able to negotiate various other commercial agreements, including vendor, reseller, and distribution partner agreements.
  • - Maintain and improve commercial contract templates, playbooks, and standard contracting clauses for inclusion in the company’s Sales Operations processes.
  • - Consistently anticipate, analyze, communicate, and propose mitigation strategies for potential risks in contractual, regulatory, compliance, financial, and legal areas.
  • - Provide training on a variety of topics to sales and other cross-functional teams.
  • - Reviewing and providing guidance to Sales functions on new or upcoming UK and EU SaaS industry-related regulations.
  • - Contribute to ongoing commercial legal and sales process improvement, automation initiatives, reduction of friction, and problem-solving within areas of legal and compliance.
  • - Seamlessly partner with business partners within the Freshworks organization to execute company business objectives and drive legal departmental initiatives, including but not limited to Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, and Information Security.
  • - Further, Freshworks’ business, financial, and risk management objectives can be achieved through diligent, proactive, and creative lawyering.
