Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in law (or similar field)
  • 4+ years previous experience in private practice and/or in-house, preferably with exposure to compliance, legal, regulatory, corporate secretariat, and insurance matters
  • Understanding of general commercial documentation (such as M&A documentation, commercial contracts, loans, and leases)
  • Experience in the energy sector would be beneficial
  • Experience working in the jurisdictions in which AQE operates would be beneficial
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely

Responsibilities

  • Support in the implementation of the Corporate Compliance Programme within AQE and the relevant assets and operations in conjunction with local and holder compliance support
  • Support with performing periodic risk assessments for compliance related matters in the relevant assets and operations in the relevant region
  • Adapt corporate compliance policies and guidelines for local circumstances relevant to the assets and operations
  • Liaise with commercial and joint venture partners on compliance issues, including the roll out of policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Support in preparing written reports/presentations on the status of the Compliance Programme and roll out within AQE assets
  • Provide advice to the business regarding day-to-day compliance related matters
  • Provide training sessions (both in-person and online) to AQE assets and operations and raise awareness regarding compliance-related matters
  • Support the development of annual training plans at AQE level and for each asset
  • Work with the local management teams to create compliance controls and monitoring adherence to them
  • Keep abreast of relevant legal and regulatory developments as well as evolving best practices in compliance topics and management
  • Support the legal, insurance and secretariat functions in relation to overall corporate compliance and governance
  • Ad-hoc projects including M&A as required
