Responsibilities

  • Reviewing, revising and drafting construction contracts as well as other agreements or documents and making changes to agreements in order to comply with University Rules, which include the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System, the rules and policies of The University of Texas System, the rules and policies of The University of Texas at Austin, and State of Texas and federal laws. Working with University administration, attorneys, employees, and UT System administration and employees.
  • Processing solicitations for competitive sealed proposals and CMR projects including scheduling and conducting all meetings, managing the evaluation process and communicating with all stakeholder/interested parties.
  • Tracking, quality checking and process of documents associated with contracts including pay applications, change orders, certificates of substantial completion, amendments, close out documents, bonds, certificates of insurance
  • Corresponding with vendors and personnel at The University of Texas at Austin, including explaining effects of provisions and clauses, risks associated with clauses, and the legal effect of clauses. Enter solicitations, construction contracts, change orders and amendments in contracts database including status and payment information. Coordinate document distribution, ensuring all documents are correct and complete when received, and that all stakeholders receive copies.
  • Perform as a part of the Project Team to provide guidance and assistance to Project Managers (PMs), the Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Office and Business and Financial Services (BFS). Cross train on other contract functions to provide back up to other team members.
  • Schedules and coordinates multi-task projects in an evolving and deadline-driven environment in order to maintain timely completion of contract functions. Proficiently utilizes computer applications Windows PC, Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint.
  • Other related functions as assigned. Collaborate with other UT Austin colleagues to initiate and develop process improvements.
