Responsibilities

  • Using a broad knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials to create accurate and defendable should-cost estimates
  • Gather data, develop and validate cost models to ensure should-cost estimates are robust
  • Using a broad knowledge of design, manufacturing processes and materials, work with clients to analyse, challenge, and influence product designs from raw material selection to manufacturing process options
  • Report on costs, margins, and breakeven points by component, product, location, supply chain, depending on the client and project objectives to ensure a real understanding business activity and associated profitability
  • Support negotiations with client suppliers
  • Provide the client with meaningful and user-friendly reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services, ensuring support of any bigger-picture transformational objectives.
