Responsibilities

Using a broad knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials to create accurate and defendable should-cost estimates
Gather data, develop and validate cost models to ensure should-cost estimates are robust
Using a broad knowledge of design, manufacturing processes and materials, work with clients to analyse, challenge, and influence product designs from raw material selection to manufacturing process options
Report on costs, margins, and breakeven points by component, product, location, supply chain, depending on the client and project objectives to ensure a real understanding business activity and associated profitability
Support negotiations with client suppliers
Provide the client with meaningful and user-friendly reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services, ensuring support of any bigger-picture transformational objectives.
