Requirements

  • MA in a relevant field (i.e. English Language Arts in elementary school education) and/or extensive relevant experience as an English Language Arts school educator/pedagogue
  • A teaching degree or equivalent
  • PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an asset
  • Experience as a master teacher/instructor in k/elementary Language Arts:
  • QEP English Language Arts program & competencies for K/ elementary grades (i.e. LES -designing, planning, assessment for ELA throughout K/Elementary grades)
  • Critical multi- literacy approaches for Language Arts in K/elementary grades
  • Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) at the undergraduate or graduate level
  • Knowledge of the impact and proven record integrating pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity and inclusion
  • Familiarity using myCourses, ZOOM and other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences
  • Familiarity teaching blended classes is an asset
  • Familiarity with the application of a variety of digital teaching and learning tools
  • A commitment to working with a team of committed and engaged instructors
  • Must be available to attend course coordination and planning meeting minimum of 2 weeks in advance of the course start date
